at what OUR country has established in the past and compare the proposals that are in Congress/Senate with OUR past.
Other countries are not run like the US
Other countries populations may not be equal to ours
Our form of government is unlike other countries
Our taxation is unlike other countries
Our financial system is set up differently than other countries
Our judicial system is unlike other countries
Our laws are unlike other countries
Just understand that we’ve em-placed Social Systems in the past that are either failing or will fail in the near future.Medicare whose insolvency will happen prior to 2014.
Social Security whose insolvency will happen sometime around 2030.
Medicare whose burden on the states and government at this time is around 40% of their expenditures.
So please when citing other countries Social programs look at the ones we’ve installed following guidelines from other countries and ask this question instead;
If the US wants to implement Nationalized health care in the form that it is in, in Committee will it become a failure based on the history and future of OUR Socialized Programs?

you repetedly point out the U.S. is not other countries. OK, think about ANY government agency, and compare it to a privately run one. Would you consider it well run? Would you consider it as effectively run as a private business?
Can you name a government agency that you would consider well run? How about one that operates in a time effective manner? Would you consider a typical government employee conscientious, hard working, or even an effictive worker?
When you consider just how poorly just about any government agency is run, its no suprise really that people just do not want the government running something as vitally important as health care
i agree with you. universal healthcare is bad.
I like how you think. There is a big difference between Canada and the U.S. They have 30 million and we have 300 million citizens. All you have to do is look at Medicare, Medicaid, and the VA Hospitals to know that the government is a failure at running healthcare.
You cite all that, yet the fact remains that your government cant even look after the health of its own.
Broken system.
Dont confuse them with logic..
just tell them the simple truth…..Coverage does not = care
I agree, but what really makes the USA stand out is how fast we flourished, The US is a very young country but yet it is one of the biggest most powerful, and has become so in a short time, why? Because of capitalism, and the free market and our form of government. Health care expenses are blamed on many things like greedy doctors or the evil pharmaceutical companies, but what many people who are for UHC do not see is that it is the socialised programs already in place by the government that is raising costs, as you pointed out the failure of these programs, but also they are extremely abused, and I see it everyday, (I work in an emergency room). Medicare, Medicaid, and welfare programs do not reimburse appropriatly, Medicare only reimburses 30% to hospitals, meaning the hospital takes alot of hits for patients coming in with government care, and who has to pay for the other 70%, the people who have insurance or self pay. Another thing is that doctors now have to practice defensive medicine, because everybody is sue happy, so instead of doing a normal check up for a headache, now the doctor does a ct head, and labs, just so they will not get sued raising costs to the consumer. Now if the government cannot handle a few healthcare programs why do people think that they can handle the whole thing. Now as the patriot points out, why would britian have universal health care if it didn’t work, why would they not go to a different system. Now this argument can be broken down into a couple of different parts. First if you knew anything about economics or politics you would know that if you have made the steps to enact UHC it is extremly hard if not impossible to reverse that course, and then there is another factor of the government wants to be in control. Now most of his sources are farse I have read them and he picks want he wants out of the articles and forgets the others, and some are just pure british propoganda from british papers, of course they are praising their own health care. Now there defenatly needs to be reform but when you have a flat tire you fix the tire you do not buy a new car, and obama is trying to buy a new car.
True. But enough people have looked at other nations and want change in the USA.
First of all, Obama wants to make insurance more available to all. And change the system so that it is cheaper, and also so that the insurance companies find it harder to get out of paying for treatment. The system he is proposing looks similar to that which works in Holland and Switzerland where private companies are involved in providing insurance.
Second, of course universal health-cover sucks. That is why we in Western Europe have it. We think, hmm, our healthcare system sucks. I know, lets keep it. I guess that is the same with Japan and Canada as well.
FACT - the USA spends more on healthcare PER PERSON than any other nation on the planet.
FACT - the US has higher death rates for kids aged under five than western European countries with universal health coverage.
That means that a dead American four year old would have had a better chance of life if they were born in Canada, France, Cuba, Germany, Japan etc, all of which have universal health coverage.
Remember, Obama was elected to bring in these changes. Come 2012, you can vote him out of office.
