Do I Need A General Doctor’s Degree Before I Study Oncology?

I live in the UK, and want to work with Cancer patients as a nurse or a doctor. Can i study oncology on it’s own? I’m only fifteen, but pretty sure this is what i want to do.

I don’t know about the UK, but in the US you need to have finished medical school and a residency in internal medicine before you can get a fellowship in oncology

If you want to work with patients, you need an MD and residency and fellowship, which takes about 10 years.
If you want to work in a lab and study oncology there, or teach oncology, a PhD would work, and would take about 5 years.
